Global Sports Alliance

G-ForSE is a
project run by the non-profit organization Global
Sports Alliance (GSA).
Established in November 1999, GSA's goal is to contribute to the creation of
a sustainable society and the development of environmentally aware sports cultures.
GSA is supported by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
To achieve this goal GSA has initiated the Ecoflag Movement - a global
drive by sports enthusiasts to develop a sustainable society and each
of GSA’s
projects is working to achieve this goal.

G-ForSE Project

G-ForSE works in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme
(UNEP) and is a platform for those involved in sport to consolidate roles
and determine actions on the environment.
The G-ForSE website is becoming the largest single database for environmental
action in sports on the web, and the G-ForSE global forum, held every two
years, attracts the top representatives of sports federations, organizations,
the sporting goods industry, athletes and NPOs.
Sports-Eco.Net Project

A grassroots initiative to reduce, reuse and recycle’ sports equipment.
The tennis ball recycling program in Japan, started in 2002, has already
redirected over a million used tennis balls to schools, where they are fixed
to the bottom of desks and chairs to reduce floor damage, teach children
about the environment’s precious resources and reduce noise (especially
effective in schools with hearing impaired children).
