Arbor Snowboards

Established in 1995 by co-founders Chris Jensen and Bob Carlson, Arbor Snowboards offers a range of boards using natural technologies. Utilizing bamboo and Hawaiian Koa from sustainable forests, the organization’s environmental policy submits that it only uses environmentally friendly wood veneer in the production of its snowboards.

“We wanted to improve board durability, performance, and style with an array of environmentally friendly natural materials,” says Bob Carlson. “We knew that we could develop new construction methods and alternative designs around these materials. Our goal is to give riders a clear choice and dealers something that adds power and variety to their line-ups.”

Arbor launched the brand on the strength of its exclusive wood topsheet technology, which improved board performance and durability, and created a radically different look for the industry. Since then the company has introduced wood inlays, Bamboo reinforced cores, cork damping stringers and in 2006, Arbor is adding Bamboo topsheets to its line-up of environmentally friendly, natural board technologies.

In its support of environmental conservation the organization commits to:
-Using forest products that are sustainable and environmentally friendly.
-Being conscientious about the environment in designing products.
-Adding the beauty of wood to our products without adding to the worldwide degradation of the environment.
-Giving back to the environment and the environmental movement.
-Developing a diverse line of wood-top boards anyone would be proud to ride

The organization also donates a portion of its proceeds to organizations involved in the protection and restoration of ancient Koa forests.
